What to use a blue screen for

Blue Screen Chroma Key

Blue screen is preferred over green screen when filming subjects with green elements (plants, green clothing). The film industry traditionally uses blue for high-end visual effects.

Display Color Testing

Test the blue channel of your monitor for uniformity and accuracy. Blue is often the weakest channel on cheaper displays, making it a good calibration reference.

Cool Ambient Lighting

Create a calm, cool-toned atmosphere perfect for focused work, meditation, or sleep preparation. Blue light from a screen provides even, gentle illumination.

Blue Subpixel Testing

Identify stuck or dead blue subpixels that would be invisible on a white screen. Each pixel has separate red, green, and blue elements that can fail independently.
